In-Home ABA Therapy

One-on-one support in the place your child knows best — so new skills grow right inside the routines you already have.

What it is

In-home ABA therapy means a trained therapist comes to your home and works one-on-one with your child. ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) breaks big skills into small, doable steps and celebrates each one. Sessions use play, praise and your child’s favorite things to make learning feel good.

Because we work at home, we can help with the moments that matter most to your family — like mealtime, getting dressed, bath time or the bedtime routine.

Who it’s for

In-home therapy is a good fit for young children with autism or other developmental differences who are working on things like:

  • Asking for what they want or need
  • Playing with others and taking turns
  • Handling changes in routine
  • Following simple directions
  • Calming down when upset

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you call. We’ll talk it through with you.

What sessions look like

First, a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) gets to know your child and your family and writes a plan with you. Then a trained therapist, called an RBT (Registered Behavior Technician), comes for regular sessions. The BCBA visits often to check progress, coach the team and update goals.

Sessions often look like play, because play is how kids learn. We take short notes as we go so we can see what is working and change what isn’t.

Example goals

  • Use words, signs or pictures to ask for a snack
  • Brush teeth with fewer reminders
  • Sit with the family for a short meal
  • Move from playtime to bath time without a meltdown
  • Play a simple game with a sibling

Where it happens

Most sessions happen in your home. As skills grow, we may practice in other places too, like a park, a store or a relative’s house, so new skills work everywhere.

Paying for it

Many families use Medicaid waiver programs or private insurance for in-home ABA. Private pay is also an option. We’ll check your benefits for free before anything starts and explain any costs clearly.

Not sure what your plan covers? That’s okay. Call us or fill out our short form, and we’ll walk you through your options step by step.

Questions

Questions about In‑Home ABA Therapy

See all FAQs
Do I have to be home during sessions?

Yes, a parent or another trusted adult should be home. You don’t need to be in the room the whole time, but we’ll invite you in often so you can see what works.

What if my child has a hard day?

That’s normal, and it’s useful. Hard days show us what’s really going on. We adjust the plan, keep things calm and never use punishment.

How soon will we see progress?

Every child is different. Many families notice small changes in the first few months. Your BCBA tracks progress and shares it with you in plain language.
